After a year and half of Covid-ness we’d all rather forget, everyone at Labman was super ready to let their hair down for our annual summer knees-up, Labfest! Following on from previous events, this year, Labman looked across the pond to our good friends and neighbours, America, for inspiration for our USA party. From the huge array of slow-cooked meats and fish in our custom-built smoker and the NERF gun shooting range, to the amazing array of cowboy outfits and a USA-themed set from Robbie & the Near Misses, our in-house band, this year’s festivities were the best yet!
It was an understandably emotional occasion getting to meet with so many friends and family after such a long period of time. Dancing together took on a new meaning for everyone, and there was barely an arm that wasn’t swaying as the band played through their final rendition of Sweet Caroline. Normality hasn’t resumed, it’s true, and we held the event outside with as many precautions as possible, but it was safe to say that many felt a sense of cautious relief that something familiar was back; Labman loves to party, and this year was no exception.
Holding the event outside meant that we had to combat the weather, which did its best to quite literally rain on the usa party parade, however, spirits were too high to be dampened by the inclement Yorkshire summer downpours.
Our appreciation goes to everyone who helped out with the organisation of this wonderful party; you gave us one hell of a show. Moreover, a heartfelt thank you to all of our staff, to our customers, suppliers, friends and families for your support, patience, understanding and hard work through the last year and a half - we couldn’t have succeeded without you; trust us, we partied hard!
