Labman are delighted to be crowned winners of the Apprenticeship Award at the grand final of the North East Business Awards 2016.
In front of a record crowd of over 600 guests including guest speaker Olympic skeleton champion Amy Williams, Labman were victorious despite facing stiff competition from Dawson & Sanderson and Keepmoat Homes. Whittled down from the 67 entered across Teesside, Tyneside, Northumberland, Durham and Sunderland the award recognises companies and organisations that have implemented an apprentice scheme as an integral part of developing their workforce.
At Labman we pride ourselves on our apprenticeship scheme and wholly believe that apprentices hold the key to the success of the future of engineering. Our business is currently expanding, as is our workforce. Out of approximately 60 staff we currently have ten apprentices. We strive to employ young, talented, motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are keen to immerse themselves fully in the Labman work ethic believing that apprentices contribute greatly to the effective running of any business. They bring an enthusiasm and willingness to learn that cannot always be matched by ‘wiser’ established employees/candidates.
Special thanks go to all our hardworking Labman apprentices and also to Richard Frank, Labman Apprenticeship Co-ordinator for his continued support.
