Men’s mental health is a topic that doesn’t always receive the attention it deserves, yet the statistics around male suicide are staggering. In the UK, men are three times more likely to die by suicide than women, and the issue has become a silent crisis that affects thousands of families and communities. At our organisation, we believe it’s time to break that silence. This November, we’re proud to dedicate our efforts to raising awareness and funds for men’s mental health, supporting Andy’s Man Club, a UK-based charity doing vital work in suicide prevention.
Our mission is simple yet profound: to spark conversation, break stigmas, and support men in seeking help when they need it. Andy’s Man Club provides free, peer-to-peer support groups for men across the UK, offering a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where men can connect, share, and find solidarity. With a predominantly male workforce, we’re especially committed to helping Andy’s Man Club continue this life-saving work.
Fundraising with 'Movember' and wellness activities
Movember challenge
Our team members are taking part in the well-known Movember challenge by growing mustaches, and we’re holding a friendly competition to see who can grow the most “fantashtic” tash! This fun and lighthearted challenge serves as a daily reminder of the cause, helping us spark conversations about why we’re supporting Andy’s Man Club and the important work they do. Photos of the best tash’s will be published early December.
Move-ember campaign: Walking, running and exercising for a cause
As part of our wellness initiatives, we’ve launched a Move-ember campaign to encourage our team to stay active while raising awareness for men’s mental health. Staff members and teams are joining forces to complete 600 kilometers of walking or running collectively by the end of November. Physical activity is not only great for mental health but also brings people together, offering the chance to connect, share experiences, and strengthen our commitment to the cause. Alongside this there are teams getting together to do as many push-ups as possible this month. With no specific goal, the healthy drive of competition is enough to keep them going!
Mental health talks: Insights from Andy’s Man Club
In addition to our physical activities, we’re hosting mental health talks featuring professionals in the field. We were particularly excited to welcome Michael from Andy’s Man Club, who share his insights and resources with our team. These sessions provide a valuable opportunity for our team members to ask questions, learn more about mental health, and discover how they can support one another both in and out of the workplace.
Why Support Andy’s Man Club?
Andy’s Man Club has become a beacon of hope for men across the UK by providing peer-to-peer support groups that meet weekly, both in-person and online. These sessions offer a safe space for men to speak openly about their struggles, connect with others facing similar issues, and find support and encouragement. Andy’s Man Club’s slogan, “It’s Okay to Talk,” reminds us that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness, and that no one should feel ashamed or alone when facing mental health challenges.
How You Can Help
While our team is fully invested in making an impact, we can’t do it alone. We’re calling on you to join us in supporting this crucial cause by donating to our fundraiser for Andy’s Man Club. Every donation, no matter the size, helps ensure that Andy’s Man Club can continue its life-changing work, providing support to men across the UK who might otherwise feel they have nowhere to turn.
Final thoughts: let’s make a difference together
By participating in Movember, Move-ember, and mental health discussions, we’re doing more than raising funds; we’re building a community that values openness, support, and understanding. Together, we can contribute to breaking down the stigma surrounding men’s mental health, making it easier for men to reach out and seek the support they need.
We invite you to support our journey and help us make a difference by donating to our fundraiser. Let’s work together to ensure that Andy’s Man Club can keep helping men across the UK say, “It’s Okay to Talk.”
