We are delighted to announce that Labman were crowned winners of the Apprenticeship Award at the Teesside heats of the North East Business Awards 2016.
We faced stiff competition from Elring Klinger GB (Ltd) and J & B Recycling but we were victorious at a packed ceremony on Thursday 25th February at Teesside University’s Olympia Building, hosted by Charlie Charlton of BBC Tees and where guests were entertained by guest speaker Kevin Maguire, associate editor of the Daily Mirror.
Here at Labman we pride ourselves on our apprenticeship scheme and wholly believe that apprentices hold the key to the success of the future of engineering. Labman Senior Manager Jamie Marsay said “Winning the award really gives recognition to the many people within our team who make the apprenticeships a success, especially the apprentices themselves. We feel that in the current economic climate that all employers have a responsibility to develop, train and nurture local people, if we are to stay competitive as a region in the global landscape. Hopefully, by winning this award, local businesses will be inspired to do the same. By investing in an apprenticeship programme we allow our business to grow and ensure that the training is tailored to our needs. The apprentices learn a trade and help grow our local economy by allowing us to supply the globe with our products, so everyone wins.”
Next stop is the North East Business Awards Grand Final on Thursday 21st April at Hardwick Hall Hotel where we can hopefully continue this success!
