Liam joined us for a 3 month Summer internship, and took on some huge tasks during his time! He sums up his experience for us.

Intern Liam
"The opportunities presented over my 3-month placement substantially exceeded what I had imagined as an intern. Labman isn’t your typical intern experience of taking orders or offering manual labour; I was brought on to high value projects where I was given full creativity to demonstrate my abilities, while still having knowledgeable colleagues who are happy to help around you."
"I was given insight and hands on experience to industry mechanical, electrical and software standards and processes. Being able to see the full lifecycle of a project from conception to deployment in different perspectives such as the customer, engineer, project lead, technician or support, is an invaluable experience that I can’t be more appreciative to be a part of."
"There were many highlights of my placement such as my part in a Vacuum Impregnation System through mechanical design, manufacturing, design. As well as my lead in two different proof of concept projects where I determined the feasibility of different ideas and continually developed future projects and products. "
"There is not much more to offer an intern than what Labman shared with me over this Summer, and I am truly thankful for the faith put on me to hold high impact roles, as well as everyone apart of the Labman team who shared their knowledge and assistance."

Flora came to Labman to take on a different kind of internship, and became a truly valued member of the team!

Intern Flora
"During my somewhat unconventional (non-engineering) internship at Labman, I spent nine weeks working within the business support, recruitment, site, and culture departments to explore the operations that sustain Labman's robotic output. From running an event in the local village to creating internal society campaigns, I had responsibilities of maintaining the key values of fun and community that are so apparent in Labman's workplace. "
"This was immediately substantiated as I encountered the whole team who were so friendly and generous with their time and advice. Despite working in a factory of around 150 people, I managed to meet (almost) all Labman members, a claim particularly assisted by the multitude of social clubs and amenities offered onsite. Regardless of being humbled by the pottery wheel, pool tables, and textiles supplies, it was so entertaining to have opportunities to engage with people outside my daily interactions."
"Most memorable will be the range of projects, customers, and daily tasks that made my time at Labman so enjoyable. Coordinating, constructing, and communicating across several departments and companies allowed me to not only benefit from professional experience, but also contribute to the inclusive workplace culture. "
"As an intern especially, I was not only given, but encouraged, to work with responsibility, independence, and volition which felt so valuable in such a fast moving environment. The personal and professional development over my internship has enhanced my communication, evaluation, and resolution skills over numerous contexts - Thank you to everyone at Labman who made my summer here so enjoyable and memorable."
