Overview

The system prepares up to 150 vials of lyophilised (dehydrated) pharmaceutical product samples for quality control analysis. The samples are reconstituted by dispensing purified water into the vial and shaking the vials until the powder is fully dissolved.

The system uses a UR3e robot arm to move the vials between the input racks and the dispensing/shaking station. Up to 5 vials can be shaken at one time. A needle is used to pierce the rubber bung on the vials and a syringe pump accurately dispenses water. The needle is washed between each dispense to ensure no cross-contamination. The system is designed to fit inside a fume hood and operates collaboratively, meaning it can be used alongside the operator without doors or light gates.
