JJ recently left us after his summer placement at Labman. He was a team player, a hard worker and he will be missed! We just got chance for a quick catch-up before he left. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavours and hopefully we will see you again soon!
"Working at Labman this summer has been a lot of fun and a great learning experience. I’m very glad that I’ve had the opportunity to come all this way to meet and work with all the great people here. My favourite thing about working at Labman has been designing and making drawings for various parts on all projects. While designing these parts I have gained a much greater knowledge of how to design parts more effectively for use and manufacturing efficiency.
Non-work related, Labman is nothing short of amazing when it comes to all the activities and events it holds, and I’m sure it’s nearly impossible to be bored while working here. I’ve enjoyed all the get togethers, parties, and in general hang outs with everyone while here. I’ve overall had a great time and I hope to eventually come back for another internship, or maybe even a job".
While he was at Labman, he took part in lots of different projects, tasks and events. Here are some examples of what he got up to, day to day;
Bioprocess
- Designing packaging and crate for skids to be shipped off
- Mounting various sensors on each skid.
- Labeling each skid
- Mounting/Fitting various sensors, brackets, and airlines on each skid.
- Various cable work on AC, DC, and AC/DC boxes
- Making drawings and getting all parts manufactured for new skid
- Various CAD work adjusting brackets and mount
Colony Counting System
- Making and checking drawings for all parts in main assembly
FightFest Robot Fighting Championship
- Setting up and taking down arena and test arena
- Volunteering for the event
